SPACE776 Seoul은 범준과 정선주의 2인전 Resonance를 개최합니다.
'Resonance(공명)'는 서로 다른 두 존재가 만나 만들어내는 울림과 에너지의 확장을 의미합니다. 이번 전시는 각기 다른 조형 언어를 구축해 온 두 작가가 하나의 공간 안에서 서로의 작업과 감각을 교차시키며, 회화가 만들어내는 새로운 공명의 가능성을 탐구합니다.
범준의 작업은 반복적인 레이어와 유기적인 흐름을 통해 끊임없이 변화하는 에너지의 움직임을 시각화합니다. 화면 속 형상은 구체적인 대상을 재현하기보다 생성과 소멸, 질서와 우연이 공존하는 상태를 드러내며, 관람자가 작품 안에서 자신의 감각과 경험을 발견하도록 이끕니다. 그의 회화는 정지된 이미지가 아니라 지속적으로 진동하는 하나의 장(場)으로 기능합니다.
정선주의 작업은 자연과 기억, 그리고 내면의 풍경을 섬세한 색채와 리듬으로 풀어냅니다. 화면 위를 유영하는 형태들은 감정과 시간의 흔적을 담아내며, 현실과 추상이 교차하는 지점을 형성합니다. 작가는 보이는 풍경보다 경험 속에 남아 있는 감각을 회화적으로 번역하며, 관람자가 자신의 기억과 연결되는 여백을 제공합니다.
두 작가는 서로 다른 시각 언어를 사용하지만, 회화를 단순한 재현이 아닌 감각과 경험이 축적되는 공간으로 바라본다는 점에서 만납니다. 서로 다른 리듬과 색채, 밀도는 하나의 전시장 안에서 충돌하기보다 자연스럽게 공명하며, 작품과 작품 사이에 새로운 관계를 만들어냅니다.

SPACE776 Seoul is pleased to present Resonance, a two-person exhibition featuring Beom Jun and Sunjoo Chung.
Resonance refers to the phenomenon in which distinct entities meet and generate a shared vibration, amplifying one another's energy. Bringing together two artists with uniquely developed visual languages, the exhibition explores the possibility of resonance through the intersection of their artistic practices, revealing how independent voices can coexist to create new layers of meaning.
Beom Jun's paintings visualize the continuous movement of energy through repetitive layering and organic flow. Rather than depicting recognizable subjects, his compositions evoke states of emergence and dissolution, where order and chance exist simultaneously. His works invite viewers to engage with their own perceptions and experiences, transforming painting from a static image into a dynamic field of perpetual movement.
Sunjoo Chung's work delicately translates nature, memory, and inner landscapes into rhythmic compositions enriched by subtle color harmonies. The forms that drift across her canvases preserve traces of emotion and time, creating spaces where reality and abstraction converge. Rather than reproducing visible scenery, she reconstructs the sensations that remain in memory, leaving room for viewers to connect their own experiences with the work.
Although their visual languages differ, both artists share a common understanding of painting as a space where perception, memory, and lived experience accumulate. Their contrasting rhythms, colors, and pictorial densities do not compete but instead resonate with one another, generating new relationships between individual works and throughout the exhibition as a whole.
Resonance ultimately proposes that art extends beyond personal expression to become a medium of connection. Through the dialogue created between the two artists' practices, viewers are invited to project their own memories and emotions, completing the resonance through their own act of perception.
With this exhibition, SPACE776 Seoul seeks to illuminate how distinct artistic languages can converge within a shared space to generate new meanings, while highlighting the relational and expansive possibilities of contemporary painting.
