SPACE776 Seoul은 2025년 11월 7일부터 12월 7일까지 박상남 작가의 개인전 ‘Trésor, Now’를 개최합니다. 이번 전시는 ‘지금, 이 순간 우리가 잃어버린 혹은 간직하고 있는 내면의 보물’을 탐구합니다. 박상남은 기억과 감정의 잔상을 물질로 전환하며, 시간과 감각이 교차하는 지점에서 ‘존재의 흔적’을 시각화합니다.
박상남은 회화, 설치, 그리고 오브제를 넘나들며 ‘감정의 잔재’를 추적하는 작업을 이어왔습니다. 캔버스와 오브제 위에 반복적인 붓질과 중첩된 레이어를 통해 ‘내면의 지형’을 구축합니다. 그의 작품은 즉흥적인 제스처와 섬세한 물성의 균형 위에서, 빛과 질감, 그리고 감정의 층위가 공존하는 시각적 언어를 만들어냅니다.
이번 전시에서 박상남은 ‘보물(Trésor)’을 개인의 기억과 정체성의 은유로 확장합니다. 작가는 일상의 파편들. 빛, 금속, 유리, 천 조각을 회화적 공간 속에 병치함으로써 과거의 흔적이 현재로 되살아나는 순간, 즉 ‘Trésor, Now’를 구현합니다. 이러한 작업은 물질적 아름다움과 정서적 울림이 동시에 존재하는 독특한 감각의 세계를 제시합니다.
‘Trésor, Now’는 박상남이 오랜 시간 탐구해온 ‘기억의 물질화’ 주제를 새로운 시각으로 재해석한 전시입니다. 그의 작품은 과거와 현재, 추상과 실재, 개인과 보편의 경계를 넘나들며, 시간을 축적하는 예술의 본질에 대한 질문을 던집니다.
SPACE776 Seoul은 이번 전시를 통해 기억과 시간, 감정의 층위가 교차하는 현대 회화의 새로운 가능성을 제시하고자 합니다.
SPACE776 Seoul is pleased to present Trésor, Now, a solo exhibition by artist Sangnam Park, on view from November 7 to December 7, 2025.
This exhibition explores “the treasures within”—the inner gems we have either lost or continue to hold in the present moment. Park transforms fragments of memory and emotion into material form, visualizing “traces of existence” at the intersection of time and perception.
Sangnam Park has long pursued a practice that traverses painting, installation, and object-making, tracing the “residues of emotion.” Through repetitive brushwork and layered surfaces on canvas and found materials, he constructs what may be called the topography of the inner self. His works balance spontaneous gestures with delicate materiality, creating a visual language where light, texture, and emotion coexist in harmony.
In Trésor, Now, Park expands the notion of “trésor” into a metaphor for memory and identity. By juxtaposing fragments of daily life—light, metal, glass, and fabric—within painterly spaces, he brings forth moments where the traces of the past resurface into the present. This process embodies a unique sensibility that merges material beauty with emotional resonance.
The exhibition revisits Park’s long-standing inquiry into the “materialization of memory,” now viewed through a renewed lens. His works traverse the boundaries between past and present, abstraction and reality, the personal and the universal—raising fundamental questions about the nature of art as a vessel of accumulated time.
Through Trésor, Now, SPACE776 Seoul seeks to illuminate new possibilities in contemporary painting where memory, time, and emotion converge.
