"DarkMythst, aka Kwame, is a Ghanian born (west Africa) residing in California, is an Afrofuturist, cosmic and cyberpunk artist, who portrays art through fantasy, mythology and futurism. The themes are usually of character portraits and environment art. He fuses the art of cosmic and natural beauty, and the Afro experience including mythology and heritage and his perspective of life itself.
His career started as a graphic designer, but later expanded into roles as a visual effects artist, where he landed a job creating effects for films such as ‘The Avengers, GI Joe, Guardians of the Galaxy and a number of both Marvel/DC films. Later, he went on to being the creative director for a medical education company where he led and trained team members that created illustrations, animations and videos for medical content.
Currently, he’s 3d environment/cine/vfx artist for MechaFightClub, while continuing to make art."

" I create characters and animals depicting them in their royal form as they should be. That’s because by blood, I am grandson of chief Nana Kofi Boahmeh II, who was an Ashanti chief in the Ghana region. I remember the vast amount of gold rings, necklaces, and his crown he’d wear and so my signature is the jewelry I tag to my characters on darktones. Also the artwork that surrounded our family home, which inspires some of the designs I put into my work.
My art is story based, and connects to my social perspective of the world and what I’ve learned along the way, expressing it through the symbolism in my art. The intention is to draw an audience to the characters and scenes, building stories through still images and animation. "
