Marco Bras was born in Moçambique, Africa, where the seeds of his interest in carving started with the Makonde woodcarvers who worked in black wood. He went to Portugal as a child and studied photography, making catalogs for painters and sculptors. Then one day, the artist fell in love with stone. He looked at the International Sculpture Center Portugal with Master Sculptor Moises, became a teacher there, and created many Private and Public Sculptures in his Studio in Sintra, Portugal capital of Marble in the world. Marco Bras has counted dozens of individual and collective exhibitions in Europe and America show up in Art Bazel, Miami, Skope, Superfine Art fair, etc. His Sculpture received prizes and honors for the excellence of his carvings. Marco Bras established his studio in New Jersey, where he can create big-size Sculptures.
