조던리는 뉴욕을 중심으로 활동하눈 조각가 아티스트이고 2010년에 도미하여 롱아일랜드 대학교에서 MFA 로 학업을 마친후2008년부터 서울에서 시작한 ‘Golem’이라는 작품시리즈를 뉴욕에서 지금까지 이어오고 있다.
 
‘Golem’이라는 이름은 유태인 설화에서 기원했으며 그것은 전혀 움직이지 않는 것들로 만들어진 움직이는 것이다-먼지나 흙과 같은 생명이 없는 물질로 만들어진 생명체. 
 
한국의 무속신앙에서부터 영감을 받은 작가의 시리즈는 무속신앙에서 보이는 보호자, 수호자 형상(개념)은 지금 연작 되고 있는 골램 시리즈와 그 궤를 같이 하고 있다.

Jourdain Jongwon Lee is sculptor and artist based in New York. He moved to the United States from Korea in 2010 and had an MFA from Long Island University. 
He has been working on his ‘Golem’ series since 2008 through Seoul to New York.
The name of the series, Golem is originally from Jewish folklore. Golem is an animated anthropomorphic being, created entirely from inanimate matter. The Golem series is connected to the idea of protection, guardian, and golem which is connected to shamanism in Korea.
